In October 2017, I left Germany with an oriental route in mind, first wanting to reach the Middle East and eventually India. After some most memorable two months in Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, I crossed into India and reached Taj Mahal on Christmas. The next couple of months were about exploring India’s west coast, the south of the Subcontinent, and then Nepal.

After taking a break in the summer of 2018, I decided to continue the journey through South-East Asia and towards Australia on the other side of the planet from where I started. From Australia and where I’d spend all of the pandemic, the idea grew to close the loop via the Americas. As at 2024, I have traveled over 110,000 kms through 25+ countries by road.

I am indicating the so-far route on the map below, updating sporadically.
